What is the meaning of the rated power of diesel generator set?

What does the rated power of diesel generator set mean?

Rated power: non inductive power. Such as electric stove, loudspeaker, internal combustion engine, etc. In inductive equipment, rated power is the apparent power, such as generator, transformer, motor, and all inductive equipment. The difference is that non inductive equipment: rated power = active power; Inductive equipment: rated power = apparent power = active power + reactive power.

The statement that the generator set has no actual power generally refers to rated power and standby power. For example, a diesel generator set with a rated power of 200kW shows that the set can operate continuously with a load of 200kW for about 12 hours. The standby power is generally 1.1 times the rated power. The continuous time of the set under the standby power load cannot exceed one hour; For example, the rated power of the set is 200kW, and the standby power is 220kw, which means that the maximum load of the set is 220kw. Only when the load is 220kw, do not continuously exceed 1 hour. In some places, there is no power for a long time. The set is used as the main power supply, which can only be calculated by the rated power. In some places, there is occasional power failure, but the power must be used continuously, so we buy the generator set as the standby power supply, which can be calculated by the standby power at this time.

The main power of diesel generator set is also called continuous power or long-distance power. In China, it is generally used to identify diesel generator set with main power, while in the world, it is used to identify diesel generator set with standby power, also known as maximum power. Irresponsible manufacturers often use maximum power as continuous power to introduce and sell sets in the market, causing many users to misunderstand these two concepts.

In our country, the diesel generator set is nominal by the main power, i.e. continuous power. The maximum power that can be used continuously within 24 hours is called continuous power. In a certain period of time, the standard is that the set power can be overloaded by 10% on the basis of continuous power every 12 hours. At this time, the set power is what we usually call the maximum power, i.e. standby power, that is, If you buy a 400KW set for main use, you can run to 440kw in one hour within 12 hours. If you buy a standby 400KW diesel generator set, if you don’t overload, the set is always in the overload state (because the actual rated power of the set is only 360kw), which is very unfavorable to the set, which will shorten the service life of the set and increase the failure rate.

1) The set of apparent power is KVA, which is used to express the capacity of transformer and UPS in China.
2) The active power is 0.8 times of the apparent power, and the set is kW. China is used to power generation equipment and electrical equipment.
3) The rated power of diesel generator set refers to the power that can operate continuously for 12 hours.
4) The maximum power is 1.1 times the rated power, but only one hour is allowed within 12 hours.
5) The economic power is 0.5, 0.75 times of the rated power, which is the output power of the diesel generator set that can operate for a long time without time limit. When operating at this power, the fuel is the most economical and the failure rate is the lowest.
